The Dead Sea-Travelling to Israel's candidate for 7 great natural wonders competition

The Dead sea is not a dead destination for travelling at all! It is young , sparkling and indulgent –a unique travelling destination to one of the great natural wonders of the world.

Israel should be very proud that the Dead Sea is one of the finalists in the competition for the title as one of the 7 great natural wonders of the modern world, no doubt it will attract thousands of travelling people to choose it for their next vacation.

Other competitors include the Grand canyon the Amazon Basin and the Maldives.

Over the past few years the Dead Sea region has transformed from medical tourism destination for adults and now attracts more and more travelling young people and travelling families from around the world.The region has become an active family vacation center , with attractions for travelling people of all ages.

Nahal Zohar:

An easy hiking tour combining magical scenery with history .The route begins with a steep descent and then continues along the watercourse of Nahal Zohar between the chalky hills and thorny acacia trees. The hike takes about 3 hours.

Ein Gedi National Park:

Here the route takes us along two streams where water flaws all year around: Nahal David and Nahal Arugot .The stark contrast between the distressed and arid Dead Sea valley and the flowing fresh-water areas from underground springs creates a noteworthy difference in fauna and flora, all of which can be seen while travelling around.

The Promenade:

A 3- kilometers trail connects Ein Bokek and Neve Zohar.Hiking along the promenade , at sunrise, sunset, or anytime in between enables one to enjoy the wild beauty of the Moab mountains with their frequently changing colors, the salt ststues along the sea , the fresh air and clear blue skies,
