Spend the Evening with Rembrandt

Travel to Vienna for the most exciting event of the year.

Witness the bounty of art treasures displayed at one hundred of the world’s best museums.  See it all for an incredibly affordable price.

Every year, during the month of October, the capital of Austria hosts “the long night at the museum” during which all of the top institutions are open from 6:00 p.m through 1:00 a.m. the next day.  The admission ticket includes complimentary shuttle service, attendance at workshops, special tours and other interesting activities.

With so much to see, you probably don’t know where to begin.  The Museum of Fine Arts is a great choice.  Its architecture alone is worth the trip, as it embodies the magnificence of 19th century design.  Here, you won’t only find the rare sculptures once owned by the Habsburgs, but a vast array of Europe’s eminent art masterpieces.  Among them, the “Madonna in the Meadow” by Raphael and the largest collection of Bruegel anywhere, are but a few.

Head out to the Lichtenstein where the walls are covered with the best of Rubens, Lucas, Rembrandt, Van Dyck and other great ones.

Another must when visiting Vienna, is Belvedere Palace; it’s a stunning representation of Baroque lavishness.  Built by Prince Eugene of Savoy, it still maintains its regal allure.  Guests can browse through galleries filled with magnificent works dating from the Middle Ages through contemporary times.  There are outstanding pieces from the Impressionist era, and the renowned paintings of Gustav Klimt including the iconic “Kiss,” and “Judith.”

Do you value the intricacy of graphic arts?  If so, the Albertina showcases the continent’s best creations.  These represent movements that have taken place in the last 125 years.  So as you admire the exhibits don’t miss Durer’s acclaimed “Hare.”

But if you’re more of a history buff, the Vienna Museum will certainly delight you with displays and documentation that reflect the city’s and country’s past.  And certainly, the Museums Quartier should be on your itinerary.  Situated at a few steps from the Imperial Palace, this large complex offers the opportunity to view other astounding gems of the world of art.  Check out the Leopold, for instance, boasting Schiele’s creations.

The world’s treasures await you.
